Admission and Discharge
The hospital accepts four main clients:
- Company
- Medical Aid
- Cash (visa acceptable)
- International insurance companies.
Note: International insurance companies may have their clients attended to with prior arrangements. Direct bank payments are also acceptable and bank details are available at our cashier’s desk.
Admissions
Admissions are the discretion of our doctors. Guardians are allowed at the discretion of doctors, too. Our cheerful staff will assist you with all the information you may need regarding our services. All enquiries are treated as confidential. We also provide information about hotels and lodges in Blantyre to guardians who would like such information.
Discharge
Upon doctor’s discharge of a patient, the final bill takes one hour to be prepared. We ask that patients remain in the ward during the time that the bill is being prepared until they are informed that it is ready.
Visiting hours
Blantyre Adventist Hospital appreciates the need for our patients to have visitors. Visiting hours are as follows:
Start Time | End Time | |
Morning: | 6:30 hrs to | 7:30 hrs |
Afternoon: | 12:00 hrs to | 13:00 hrs |
Evening: | 17.30 hrs to | 19:30 hrs |
We allow one visitor per patient at a time in the general ward. In the ICU, two visitors per patient per visiting hour is the rule. We encourage men to be with their wives as much as possible in the maternity ward. Children are allowed to visit the mother and the new born baby.
