The Pharmacy Department at Blantyre Adventist Hospital (BAH) is responsible for procuring medicines, storing medicines, dispensing medicines, giving out pharmaceutical information to patients and medical personnel and ensuring that good pharmacy practice is adhered to in the hospital. The pharmacy department recognizes that medicines are not ordinary articles of commence, therefore proper management of high quality medications is the central responsibility of the department to meet the health goals of BAH clients as desired by our Lord Jesus Christ. To achieve these objectives, the department has qualified pharmacy staff registered by the pharmacy Medicines Regulatory Authority. The department is sensitive to the dynamic nature of the medical field. The on job Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an ongoing activity for all pharmacy personnel at BAH pharmacy to keep up-to-date with new innovations in pharmacy and medicine.

The pharmacy is open 24 hours daily. BAH Pharmacy recognises the negative impact of Hypertension and Diabetes on the quality of life of those affected. We offer a wide range of anti-diabetics and anti-hypertensives in order to improve the quality of life of our clients. Due to the increase in life expectance in Malawi, cancer has affected almost every family in Malawi. BAH pharmacy has a wide range of oncology medicine. BAH has one of the best Resuscitation team in Malawi. We stock a wide range of emergency medicines required by our ER and ICU. The pharmacy also stocks a wide range of primary health care medicines required to treat minor medical conditions.
